Faizan Global Relief Foundation (FGRF) has donated over 32 tonnes of meat to ten thousand vulnerable people in Malawi as part of it’s commemoration of Eid-Ul-Adha.
The foundation which is a welfare department of Dawateislami organization has always shown commitment to uplifting the welfare of the marginalized communities in the country.
In an interview after receiving his 100 Kilograms of meat, George Afraid, a resident of Thyolo, described the donation as providential.
“As someone trading in flied chips and meat, the 100 kg is a boost to my business. I will sell part of it,” he explained.
Added Roy Phiri, resident of Blantyre: “this is very timely. Some of us have not eaten meat for sometime now. We thank Faizan for reaching out to us.
“The meat distribution which disregarded religion was carried out in five major districts of southern region including Chiradzulu and Nsanje.
Officials from the organization highlighted, during the donation, that this is a continuation of similar gestures that have been happening in preceding years during Eid Ul Adha.
” Last year we distributed about 9 tones, this year 32 and next year we intend to reach 100 tones and reach more areas. The joy which is on people’s faces at the time of receiving the meat makes the whole effort and time worth it, that’s the real income”, said Faizan official.
The commemoration is set aside in Muslim communities around the world to sacrifice animals and help the underprivileged.
